Makenzy is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics, and a minor in Computer Science and Leadership.  She has gained experience working in both the mortgage industry with Michigan First Credit Union and United Wholesale Mortgage and also as an insurance underwriter with Auto-Owners Insurance Company.
